Saving the Sun-Times: Off the Record with Edwin Eisendrath

Edwin Eisendrath is the CEO of the Chicago Sun-Times, the oldest continuously published daily newspaper in the city. Eisendrath led the group that saved the newspaper in 2017, when its previous owner sought to sell it to the Chicago Tribune. Join the Lawyers Club to hear Eisendrath discuss his decision to helm the acquisition of this historic Chicago institution and describe some of the challenges he has faced since taking charge. Eisendrath is a lifelong Chicagoan who has been engaged in civic service for many years through the public, private, and independent sectors. Before leading the Sun-Times, he was Managing Partner of StrateSphere, LLC, a firm specializing in public-private partnerships. Eisendrath also has served as a Chicago alderman, a regional administrator for the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development, and a teacher in the Chicago schools.
