Scott Turow in Conversation: A Lunch with Chicago’s Celebrated Legal Thriller Author

Please join us on October 22, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Union League Club for lunch with best-selling author and club member Scott Turow in conversation with Lawyers Club past president and board member Linton Childs.

Scott Turow is the author of numerous bestselling works of fiction, including Identical, Innocent, Presumed Innocent, and The Burden of Proof, and two nonfiction books, including One L, about his experience as a law student. His books have been translated into more than forty languages, sold more than thirty million copies worldwide, and have been adapted into movies and television projects. He has frequently contributed essays and op-ed pieces to publications such as the New York Times, Washington Post, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, and The Atlantic.

Linton Childs is a past president of the club and is Sidley’s general counsel, overseeing the firm’s Office of General Counsel and managing the firm’s internal legal, professional responsibility, and risk management functions.

Scott will be available before and after dinner to greet guests and sign copies of his works. His most recent work, Presumed Guilty, published January 14, 2025, by Grand Central Publishing, follows beloved character Rožat “Rusty” Sabich, as he returns to court after retiring to mount a defense when the son of his fiancée is accused of murdering the daughter of the local prosecutor.
