Interviewing for your First Post Law School Job

Please join us for a live-streamed event on April 6, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. for an event for our student members.  Our distinguished panel of jurists and senior counsel will discuss what they look for during interviews and provide practical advice on how to make your talents and achievements stand out when applying for your first post law school job.  There will be ample opportunity during the event to ask questions and solicit advice.

There is no charge for this event for the club’s student members and their guests.

Sanjay Tailor is the Presiding Judge of the County Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.  He has also sat in the Chancery, Law, Domestic Relations, and Municipals Divisions of the court. Before his appointment to the bench, he practiced law at a large firm, a fortune 500 company, and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Nichole Patton is a Cook County Circuit Court Judge currently assigned to the County Division. She presides over cases involving mental health law, adoptions, election law, civil asset forfeitures, name changes, and real estate tax objections.  Prior to her role in the judiciary, Judge Patton was an assistant state’s attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney Office, Special Prosecutions Bureau.

Emil Khatchatourian is a restructuring and bankruptcy senior counsel in the Chicago office of Foley & Lardner LLP. He represents debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, purchasers of assets, investors, and other stakeholders in a broad range of restructuring matters, including chapter 11 cases, out-of-court workouts, acquisitions, and liquidations.
